Hi, I have been taking Proscar for prostate cancer. It is the 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, which blocks the enzyme that is responsible for testosterone production. I have been taking Proscar for about 10 years now and it has helped me immensely. Now I am trying to start my Proscar once a month. I have not been able to see a shrink in 10 years of Proscar use as I don't really see much of a difference between the two.
I have been taking Proscar for the past couple of years and it was causing me problems in that regard. My doctor suggested I take Proscar daily for around two years. I have been taking Proscar for about a year now and have had no side effects from it. The prostate was still not doing anything any more and when I began to lose my hair, I noticed that the prostate stopped growing and I couldn't see anything. I went to my local doctor and he told me that Proscar could be used by men who have prostate cancer. I am trying to find out exactly what is causing this and if there is anything I should be doing to help prevent it. I hope he does not believe me.
I am also on Proscar for the past 10 years and I've had a lot of negative side effects from it. I've had some bad side effects from it too. One of them was my hair loss and after reading some of the comments I thought I was having a receding hairline. I've also had some issues with my skin and my scalp. The problem is the hairline is still growing, but it is still growing.
I am currently on Proscar and it has been working for me. My hair loss has been manageable and the side effects have been gone. It is going to be great for me if I can stop the treatment and get back on the Proscar. If I can stop Proscar and get back on the Proscar then I will be able to do what I want to do. I will continue to use Proscar for my hair and scalp, even after my hair loss is gone.

RefreshFinasteride is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male pattern hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia. BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate. Finasteride will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the chance that prostate surgery will be needed. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as an alpha-blocker to treat BPH. For men with hair loss, finasteride will increase the number of scalp hairs but will not increase the amount of body hair.
Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow or hair loss in males. It will increase testosterone levels in the body, which decreases prostate size and increases hair growth on the scalp. The effect of finasteride on the prostate and scalp will only last as long as the medicine is taken. When it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again and the hair will be lost.
